To My Faithful Followers...

I must apologize for my delinquency in updating my blog. Yes, some of it is my fault... I'm tired and it was a very busy weekend. Also, the blogger site has been very slow the past couple of days, and I have no patience.

Last Thursday, we had our first OBGYN appointment. We were pleasantly surprised when the doctor gave us another ultrasound! In the picture, the baby is lying on it's back, head to the left. You can kinda see the start of the little arms and legs sticking straight up. The pictures don't scan particularly well - so I know it's hard to see... don't worry, only 7 more months and we can see the real thing! We were also able to see the little peanut moving around in there, and we heard the heartbeat for the first time. This little miracle is so facinating and wonderful!

I shared our news with my 2 bosses last Friday. They seemed to take it very well, with the normal concerns... will I come back to work, how long do I want to take off, how are they going to balance my project assignments with the time off... etc etc etc. I do feel kinda bad about the timing of this whole thing - but who am I kidding - I'm estatic to be pregnant!

My friends Ingrida and Andrew came and stayed the night with us on Friday night. Ingrida is 7 months pregnant now and they are moving back to Minnesota. It was great to see them one last time before they move on. Ingrida looks beautiful - she made me excited to be that far along.

Yesterday, we had a surprise retirement party for Fred. Somehow, I ended up being the person to delay him from coming home too soon. I still feel bad for lying to my father-in-law... but I suppose it was for a good cause. My mother would be ashamed and how good I was at the lying part. I was a little surprised myself!

I love the heartbeat visit. It's so amazing to hear it isn't it? Congratulations! Tell me when you're due again. What names are you thinking of using? Our secretary is pregnant right now. Her mother dreamt that she had a baby girl and they named her Clair. But her last name is Reese so I told her she can't possibly name the baby Clair. She'd think of Hannibal Lector everytime someone said her name.

Hi Karen!

Not sure about names... we still have plenty of time to figure that one out. Right now, I call the little one George - because "I will hold him, and love him, and call him George". It just sounds better to me that "it" or "he/she"

You are both hilarious.

Exciting to hear the heartbeat and see the ultrasound picts. Sounds like everything is going great! YAY!
